The Irondequoit Recreation Department today announced its first major initiative to connect Town residents to their future Community Center. Effectively immediately, residents can sign up for a free “Resident Access Pass” for the Irondequoit Community Center, which will open later this summer. The Resident Access Pass allows residents to take advantage of certain amenities at the Community Center, free of charge.
“We are thrilled to soon be opening the new Irondequoit Community Center, and the first step for residents looking to utilize this new space is to sign up for a free Resident Access Pass,” said Katrina Hall, Director of Irondequoit Recreation. “This will provide our residents with safe and secure access to their facility, allowing our community to fully enjoy this new amenity.”
Families and individuals who sign up for the free Resident Access Pass will be able to utilize the walking path, lounge areas, receive resident rates on programs and access to resident-only family nights, events, programs, and open gym sessions. After obtaining the free Resident Access Pass, patrons will have the ability to upgrade to a paid monthly membership, purchase Tot Drop punch passes, and access additional amenities.
Soon, the Town will begin rolling out paid membership packages which will allow residents to access the fitness center, starting as low as $15/month. Irondequoit Recreation is working with private insurers to provide free senior memberships through reimbursement programs.
Resident may obtain their pass at Irondequoit Recreation’s Offices, located at 154 Pinegrove Ave, Monday – Friday from 8:30 am – 4:30pm. Evening sign-up hours will be available as well as posted at a later time. Residents may also call Irondequoit Recreation at 336-6070 or visit Irondequoit.org/documents/iccmembershipapp/ for more information.
The Irondequoit Community Center is a 40,000 square foot facility on two levels consisting of rooms of varying sizes and capacities, located at the site of the former Irondequoit Mall, now known as Skyview on the Ridge. The building will be operated by the Irondequoit Recreation Department and was approved of by residents in a 2019 public referendum.
